White grain mystery solved

Work by the Solomon lab, in collaboration with SARDI, has identified the causal agents of the wheat disease known as white grain disorder. Originally considered to be a Botryosphaeria sp., our research has shown the disease actually consists of a complex of Eutiarosporella species, E. tritici-australis, E. darliae and E. pseudodarliae. This study (available here) provides growers, pathologists and other relevant stakeholders confidence in managing and identifying the disease in the field.
